The Heritage Park is Canada’s largest living history museum, and one of Calgary’s must-see attractions for anyone visiting or living in the city. It is a favourite place for family outings, especially during summer months when the weather is warm and the sun is shining. The summer is also the time when everything in the park is open, including the Historical Village, Town Square and Gasoline Alley Museum. There are literally hundreds of attractions and exhibits, including ones that you can touch, play and interact with. Kids will love the paddleboat ride or hopping aboard an old train while the more adventurous will enjoy the Ferris wheel and merry-go-round. Adults will find it fascinating to wander around Town Square, complete with Canadian Pacific Railway Station and Air Plaza. Gasoline Alley Museum is where car buffs will spend most of their time, exploring models from the early 1900s. Along with a number of costumed actors, games, rides, exhibits and more, there are plenty of opportunities to dine and shop as well. You won’t want to spend just one day at this incredible park that takes visitors back in time.
