For golfing enthusiasts, there’s nothing like a golfing green to add to a trip. In Mysore, there’s an added charm to it, for it was established by the Mysore Maharaja and used extensively by royalty. Like many other institutions in Mysore, the Jayachamaraja Wadiyar Golf Club has royal parentage and was founded in 1906 by Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar. It is also unique in that it shares space with the race course and half of the 18 holes lie within it. Needless to say the setting is spectacular and golfers will no doubt enjoy the challenge and the terrain. The club’s annual calendar is quite full and it hosts more than 20 tournaments through the year, the biggest and most prestigious being the Maharaja’s Challenge Cup which goes back to 1957.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
