Attend the Dubrovnik Summer Festival that has been hosted annually in Dubrovnik for the past 67 years. It had been so well received in the past that it has become an institution now and hundreds of thousands of locals and tourists throng the old town of Dubrovnik every July and August to witness one of the most culturally rich festivals in Europe. From 10th July to 25th August every year, plenty of local and international artists serenade visitors with classical music, theatre performances, dances and folklore. These performances take place in internal stages, including Sponza Palace, as well as open stages and venues that pop up all over old town around towers, fountains and palaces. In addition to the cultural performances, local and international films are screened under the open sky and make for a surreal experience. The festival commences with a grand opening night performance on Stradun followed by spectacular fireworks in the Old Harbour area. Tickets can be purchased online or a few hours before the beginning of each performance.
