Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also shared pictures of the couple on social media and applauded their gesture for hosting a destination wedding with a difference. Local cuisine and Kashmiri music were the main highlights of the wedding. Robertson shared that they wanted to have a ‘white wedding’ in the mountains and that they were glad to host it in Gulmarg.
As per the experts and tour operators, the wedding of this American couple in Gulmarg’s oldest church has really raised hopes for tourism in this region. They are of the view that with the pictures of the couple going viral, there is a definite lift in the spirits of Kashmir’s tourism industry, which witnessed an unprecedented decline due to militant activities. And this wedding has been able to put the required spotlight back to the destination.
So kudos and wishes to the couple for a blessed life ahead.
