Visitors interested in history, art or even pop culture should visit Glenbow Museum, which is located downtown in the heart of Calgary. It is Western Canada’s largest museum and each of its four floors boasts amazing artefacts. Exhibits change constantly, although they have a slew of permanent ones that not only teach you about Canada but also the rest of the world. Some of the most popular permanent exhibits are the Art of Asia where over 80 sculptures are on display and the Global Warriors, where a presentation on the culture and people of war enlighten visitors. This museum also has on display art, paintings and sculptures, along with artefacts that are related to the local history of Alberta. We don’t recommend bringing small children here as there are limited interactive areas. Make sure to check out the travelling exhibits before you go as they change regularly, and if you happen to visit on the first Thursday of the month, you get free admission during the evening!
