If you are in the mood to shop in Edmonton during the summer and want to avoid the malls, why not head to one of the ever-popular farmer’s markets. There are plenty to choose from around the city, but there are a few definite favourites. Head to the Old Stratchona Market where over 130 vendors are present every single Saturday. Here you will find the largest selection of locally and homemade items as well as plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. The City Market on the other hand can be found outside during the summer months, offering everything from clothing to fruit wine to handmade jewelry. Located on 104th street, there is often more going on than that from a typical market. Visit the community booth where different organisations set up each week, watch one of the buskers perform or simply sit on one of the benches and take in the lively atmosphere. Other markets around the city include Edmonton Beverly Towne Farmers' Market, Southwest Edmonton Farmers' Market, and the Edmonton Millwood’s Farmers' Market.
