Take a trip to 1920's Singapore
Word to the wise: Make sure you sign up for a tour in advance via the Baba House website as visits are by appointment only.

While many museums in the city offer an all-encompassing insight into Singapore's past, they can't beat the intimate authenticity of Baba House. There is nothing overtly museum-ish about this genuine 1920's family home, and thus is its appeal.
Donated to the National University of Singapore by Agnes Tan—the last surviving daughter of the founder of the Malaysian Chinese Association—the iconic blue house is packed with an enviable collection of original Peranakan furniture and artefacts, which offer a fascinating insight into Straits Chinese (colonial-era immigrant) history.
