An architectural masterpiece
Noteworthy for: The unusual structure was designed by Israeli/Canadian architect, Moshe Safdie, who got his big break envisioning Montréal's Habitat 67 when he was still a student.

Styled upon a giant, unfurling lotus bloom, Singapore's new ArtScience Museum cuts a beautiful figure on the Marina South skyline—especially when it's illuminated at night. Part of the Marina Bay Sands complex, the museum is dedicated to showcasing works that harness the power of creativity.
The facility's permanent collection explores the relationship between science and art; charting accomplishments throughout the ages (think: Leonardo da Vinci's Flying Machine) but the real draw here is the visiting exhibitions, from Tang Dynasty shipwreck treasures to an Andy Warhol showcase—the pop artist once commented that dinner party guests should bring a piece of science news, rather than a gift, to the table.

Conventional art lovers are better off dedicating an afternoon to the Singapore Art Museum, but architectural buffs would be wise to check out this architectural gem—at least from the outside.
