The dates of 16th Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) have been finally announced, as they are scheduled to take place in five different venues between January 11 and 18, 2018. This edition of film festival is special because the collection is dedicated to the works of renowned Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman and showman of Indian cinema Raj Kapoor.
Being organised in collaboration of the Pune Film Foundation and the Maharashtra Government, the festival has selected a total of 200 films to feature out of a pool of 1,008 entries that were made by filmmakers from different parts of the world.

All set to feature a heady mix of films from different genres, including comedy, tragedy, abstract and feature, the main theme of this year’s edition of film festival will be youth. Explaining more about this year’s selection of films, Satish Alekar, a member of the organising committee, said that all of them will together present new sensibilities that have been coming up across the world.
Speaking about the films selected this year, Abhijeet Randive, member of selection committee, revealed that entries were made from various countries of the world, including Serbia, Argentina, Turkey and China. Some of these international films that will be featured this year are I am nobody (Turkey), Requiem For Mrs J (Serbia), Free And Easy (China), Women Of The Weeping River (Philippines & France), Euthanizer (Finland), Goliath (Switzerland), The Longing (Netherlands), Zama (Argentina), More (Turkey), The Nothing Factory (Portugal), I’m A Killer (Poland), Djam (Turkey), The Quartette (Czech Republic) and Nocturnal Times (India) among others.
