Tour the Alberta Legislative

This gorgeous building is open 362 days of the year and you can get a free guided tour of the building any day of the week, leaving every hour on the hour up until 4:00 pm. If you have any interest in politics, this tour is excellent. Heritage interpreters lead the tours and talk about the levels of government, the history of politics in Alberta, traditions and ceremonies found in the parliament and more. They also talk about the building itself and the extraordinary art, which it holds on the walls. The tours last about 45 min and people of all ages are welcome here. Book ahead or just walk-in, but know that these tours are busy throughout the summer months. After you have toured inside, make sure to do the self-guided tour of the grounds. The grounds are 55 acres in total and have beautiful gardens, walking paths and monuments throughout. And don’t forget to visit the gift shop where Alberta artisans display their work.
