Habita Hotel

Sheaths of frosted glass cover Habita Hotel, which was opened in 2000 in a 1950s era building. The luxury hotel has original balconies but new corridors to go with it. It gets brightly lit by the sunlight beaming in from floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The clear and clean space seems to create a fresh and peaceful aura. With 36 rooms, complimentary Wi-Fi and three meeting rooms, this uniquely designed hotel created quite a stir when it was initiated by the hotelier duo. In the daylight, it resembles a block of ice while in the night a paper lantern!

You might enter the hotel expecting Mexican colonialism but would be surprisingly greeted by white minimalistic theme and hardwood floors. The corridors are awash with calm seafoam green paint immediately adding to the coolness and propagating the icy look of the hotel. Rates here start around $197.
In the room, you will find only a bed, Eames chairs and a panel of glass which doubles as both desk and table. Hop on over to the terrace for a great view. While some may find it a bit simpleton for their tastes, the hotel is right in the heart of Polanco district with exciting activities buzzing left, right and centre for tourists. The National Museum of Anthropology is just 0.5 miles from the hotel. Opt for a Mexico City tour, go pedalling on a bike tour, go crazy shopping in Polanco or visit the nearby Chapultepec Castle. The choice is yours!
