Las Mananitas is located in a colonial building complete with landscaped gardens. But do not mistake it for an old hotel for it also has modern amenities such as free Wi-Fi, on-site parking and pretty tiled bathrooms. Combining old with new, the hotel is just a kilometre away from the historic centre of Cuernavaca. In classic Nahuatl, Cuernavaca means near the woods. Established by the Olmec civilisation approximately 3200 years ago, it attracts tourists because of its warm, favourable climate. It was also nicknamed the ‘City of Eternal Spring’. Such is the pleasant weather of the city that Aztec emperors used to maintain their summer homes there.
Some places to visit in this city are Palace of Cortés, Morelos and Juárez Gardens, Borda Garden and Robert Brady Museum. Hacienda Atlacomulco is another place to be put on your list. It is one of the first sugar plantations in Mexico. The Chapultepec Ecological Park is located 4 km away from the Cuernavaca city centre and contains fresh water springs which lead to a river.
If you are staying at Las Mananitas, your stay will in itself be comfortable with the restaurant, massage/treatment rooms and conference rooms. Also, there are many activities around the hotel. Go for ‘Tlacuache Adventures’ which includes adventures such as caving, hiking, canyoneering, camping and rappelling. You could also opt for a skydiving adventure held at a place some 5 miles away from the hotel. Or go to Orlane Spa for a calm and blissful day. The aromatherapy massages and serene gardens transport you to another world.
