According to a report published in one of the leading news websites, even high-end resorts in Gulmarg have been booked till January 2021. Reportedly, about 700 to 800 tourists are reaching Gulmarg on a daily basis. Of these, about 200 to 300 alone are from different parts of India, and the rest are local tourists keen on spending vacation time in the hill station.
The Jammu and Kashmir Cable Car Corporation is running on only the first part of the ropeway due to the skiing activity being restricted to the lower end.
Meanwhile, Srinagar recently recorded the coldest night in the last decade. The water in taps in the homes of locals has frozen and so has the Dal Lake. On the other hand, temperature at Pahalgam also plummeted at minus 9.5 degree Celsius.
