One of India’s cleanest beaches is ready for tourists

Karnataka’s Padubidri Beach, one of India’s cleanest beaches, known for its calm blue waters and clean surroundings, will reopen for visitors from December 17.

Reportedly, the Udupi district administration has allowed both Indian and foreign tourists to the Blue Flag certified Padubidri beach. District Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha told the TOI that works related to the blue flag certification are now over with the cooperation of the Union Ministry of Environment and Society of Integrated Coastal Management (SICOM). Padubidri beach had received the blue flag international recognition on October 11 this year by an international jury of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), Denmark. It is not only the cleanest beach in India, but one of the cleanest on earth. It is also the second beach in Karnataka to receive a Blue Flag certification.

Jagadeesha told the TOI that the beach was closed for visitors to finish pending bamboo cladding tasks.
Padubidri is a small town in Karnataka with a beach. It is located only 30 km from tourist destinations like Mangalore and Udupi. It has ample parking space, vendors selling a variety of snacks and beverages, a canteen, clean drinking water etc.
