Situated in Banjara Hills, this excellent restaurant recreates the colonial-era ambience of the first-ever train to run in India in 1853. The interiors are designed like an actual carriageway to give diners the impression of dining inside a train, decorated with silk tapestry, with dinner being served with silverware. The menu is dominated by north Indian fare from Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. In keeping with its theme, there’s also a section devoted to Anglo-Indian cuisine, with dishes such as railway mutton curry, dak bungalow murghi roast and jhinga malai stew. Don’t forget to try unique desserts such as chickoo ka halwa, apple walnut phirni and litchi ki tehri.
