At about 20 minutes drive from Sardinia’s main city, Cagliari, Sa Cardiga e Su Schironi is one of the best known restaurants on the island. High quality and fresh local ingredients are used to prepare mouth-watering dishes, most of which are fish and seafood based. Guests can also find some delicious meat or vegetarian dishes here. The must-try dishes include the fresh tagliatelle pasta with a ragout sauce made of tuna and eggplants, and the traditional fregola (a typical Sardinian kind of pasta, similar to cous cous, but thicker) cooked in a broth with clams. Also delicious are the mixed grill which contains a variety of fish and local shrimps, as well as the mixed fried fish, calamari, and mussles. Fresh lobster is served, and cooked in a variety of ways. The atmosphere at Sa Cardiga e Su Schironi is relaxed, and the service is kind, welcoming, and incredibly professional. It is a little on the pricey side, but totally worth it. It is an ideal location for important events and celebrations.
