O Coqueiro is a must-visit for anyone looking for more than just a tinge of Portuguese delights in Diu. An open air restaurant, it is run by a family that excels in doling out some fine Portuguese grub. All the food at O Coqueiro is made to order; seafood sourced from the fisheries right when you place the order! Fish dumplings are not to be missed; vegetarians have a lot to choose from the menu that has a range of pastas, puddings, coconut curry, falafel-hummus platters and more. Set in a garden, it is one of the more relaxed places to eat in Diu. Peppy Portuguese and Bollywood music, hoka and coconut trees that shade the area and welcoming hosts make it quite an impressive restaurant on the island.
