If I had to pinpoint a place that compelled me to fall in love with Czech food, Lokal would take the cake hands down. What is essentially a traditional Bohemian beer hall, Lokal is huge but extremely humble at the same time. The overwhelming crowd is proof of the fact that your meal here will be worth every penny. The menu is updated on a daily basis and the names of the people who work tirelessly in order to make this excellent restaurant a reality are generously attributed, something that other eateries never really care to do.Meat, obviously, is a staple and so are potatoes. Beer is like god and is therefore omnipresent in all forms—light, dark, strong and mild. The waiting staff is the friendliest I have ever seen and is great with recommendations. I was comfortably seated in their non-smoking area and ordered a helping of fried cheese with tartar sauce, a bowl of steaming potato soup and also a ridiculously big mug of dark lager. The taste still lingers in my mouth and makes me want to go back for more. When in Prague, do not miss out on Lokal or you will regret it for the rest of your life!
