The brainchild of veteran restaurateur Jiggs Kalra, Masala Library seeks to impress every step of the way. It does this with out of the box presentation and innovative fusion dishes like jalebi caviar and okra with dahi bhalla, all of which adhere to the principles of molecular gastronomy. Come here with a really empty stomach and lots of appetite if you plan to try the nine-course degustation menu which includes everything from four cheese naan to dal rice in arancini style. Another good idea is to go for the chef’s tasting menu where you get to try all the signature dishes in small portions with wine that complements each dish. The cuisine is entirely North and South Indian, and there is a specially crafted menu just for vegetarians. Masala Library is famous for the scrumptious ‘palette cleansers’ that are served in between courses. Even drinks are not spared the creative magic wand of Jiggs Kalra. Choose between burnt curry leaf martini and star anise martini. Those with a sweet tooth will be pleased with their ras malai tres leches, featuring soft ras malai stacked together like a tres leches cake.
