Singaporeans love their bubble tea, a Taiwanese fruit-flavoured milk drink made with chewy tapioca 'pearls' designed to be slurped up through a straw. There's certainly lack of bubble tea vendors around Singapore, but Gong Cha (Tribute Tea) is a perennial favourite.

There's an art to consuming Gong Cha's signature milk tea—which you'll find printed (in English) on the cup. But the small print doesn't specify that the creamy froth is actually salty—it's definitely an acquired taste. Join the snaking queues at the original City Square Mall or head to Gong Cha's newer outlet in Gardens Mall.
