Cafe Lam

Café Lam is one of Hanoi's most famous and oldest cafés that still retains a real local feel. This one room café is practically a historical monument and the charming old world atmosphere is complemented by the many art pieces, antiques and nostalgia that decorate the walls and the low stools and tables that the locals sit on. Café Lam is usually packed with a local regular crowd enjoying the affordable traditional Vietnamese style coffee, both hot and iced versions all with sweet, thick condensed milk.
Café Lam is opposite Giang, another popular old Hanoi café, and you can also enjoy your coffee at the pavement and watch the people passing by. If you enjoy the coffee here then they also sell pre-packaged coffee powder and beans too that you can take away to try at home.
