Located in Pueblo Libre, next to a church and a couple of Lima’s most popular museums, lies this iconic bar of Lima. Just pause for a minute and enter inside to take a peek into the Peruvian history. The bar is housed in a traditional building, which will transport you to a different era almost immediately. This 130-year-old tavern is patronized by locals and is an ideal choice for friends to meet over a couple of drinks. Folks can also be seen enjoying a beer by themselves while reading the news. This bar holds immense meaning for local Peruvians. The tavern is large and spacious and remains full most of the time, especially at night. So do try and reach early if you want to find a nice table for yourself. The atmosphere is informal and friendly with a bohemian feel to it. Antigua Taberna Queirolo serves Peruvian food that is tasty and well priced. Although their menu is not very vast and mostly comprises of bar snacks, their sandwiches (especially ham) are delicious.
