Parmadan wildlife sanctuary is situated in the Naldungri region which is located at about 28 kilometres from Bongaon, a city and municipality in the North 24 Parganas district in Bengal. Under a thick canopy of shishu, bamboo, minjiri, tut, arjun, shimul, and shirish trees, this 68 square kilometre forest stretches along the banks of the Ichamati river and is now known as the Bibhuti Bhushan Wildlife Sanctuary. This is the best place to go for animal watching to catch a glimpse of deer, monkey, peacock and rabbit, and it’s also a great spot for bird-watchers who can catch a large number of birds like the Shankacheel, Neelkanth, Phooltushi and many more which can be seen abundantly in this forest.
