The Valley of Flowers in Uttarakhand is likely to be accessible for tourists from June 1. This time, however, the world-famous site will allow only a certain number of visitors up there. Locals have already been issued instructions to ensure better facilities are provided to tourists that are visiting the spot after seeking approval from the Tourism Department. With the Char Dham Yatra already in progress, tourist movement to this World Heritage Site will also get a green flag from June onward.
Tourism Secretary Dilip Javalkar, referring to this development, said that the Valley of Flowers being an eco-sensitive zone will get limited number of visitors this year. Further, he said the number of visitors to this place will be determined by the forest department.
