These impressive features of new Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express train will blow your mind away

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal launched the new Rajdhani Express between Mumbai and Delhi on January 19, 2019. This is the third train to be introduced on the Mumbai-Delhi rail route.
Reportedly, the train will run on a bi-weekly basis between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai to Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in Delhi. Interestingly, the Indian Railways have equipped the new Rajdhani Express with amazing modern features and facilities. The train boasts of free Wi-Fi, 3D VR headsets and advanced hand-held terminals. VR (Virtual Reality) headsets will also be provided to the first AC coach passengers for the journey.

Needless to mention that passengers can now have a good time going through the heritage of Indian Railways via 3D graphics using the 3D VR headsets.
There are already two Rajdhani trains plying to and from Mumbai and Delhi. However, the third train will be the first of its kind to run through Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. The new Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express will halt at Kalyan, Jalgaon, Nasik Road, Bhopal, Jhansi, and Agra Cantonment stations.


According to the news reports, the new train is the first Rajdhani Express train service for the Central Railway. It has been fitted with new LHB rakes rather than the previously used ICF coaches.

The railway department has also paid due attention to make train toilets eco-friendly and user-friendly. News has it that the new Rajdhani train has air fresheners, modular bio-toilets, sensor-activated soap dispensers, comfortable toilet seats, floor mats and taps with aerators for water conservation.

In order to ensure proper hygiene, third AC coaches have been given disposable paper toilet seat covers while the toilets in first and second AC coaches have fresh disposable seats.

For added comfort, the Indian Railways has replaced the regular linen with branded and better quality bed sheets, blankets, pillows and pillow covers for the use of passengers. Furthermore, first AC coaches will feature new curtains, backlit LED pictures, flooring, revamped toilets, window roller blinds for an improved view and good quality sanitation kits.

Finally, the Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTEs) on board the new train will be armed with advanced hand-held terminals (HHTs) for easy ticket checking and real-time updating of berth occupancy status in order to boost chances of confirmation of waitlisted tickets.
