On the occasion of 122nd birth anniversary of Indian freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose, a museum dedicated to him has been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Red Fort. The museum features artefacts related to the leader and his party INA (Indian National Army); on display are medals, badges, uniforms and a wooden chair.
The Yaad-e-Jallian Museum is established in the memory of people and Indian soldiers, who were massacred at the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab, in 1919. Also known as the Amritsar Massacre, the Jallianwala Bagh tragedy still remains one of the most brutal incidents in the history of India. Hundreds of innocent people lost their lives in it, while more than thousands suffered severe injuries.
Those who wish to pay a visit at these museums can do so after 31st January, 2019, as the Red Fort will remain close for Republic Day (26th January) and Bharat Parv (26th to 31st January) celebrations.
