Philadelphia has a unique museum dedicated to neon lights. The museum tells the story of the city through these beautiful attractive lights, and is certainly a major attraction. After all, how many neon museums have you ever seen?
Len Davidson’s love for neon lights began back in the 1970s, and as of now he has a massive collection of these beautiful lights. The idea behind the museum is to allow the public to take a glimpse into his neon light collection. Currently you can see about 150 pieces of neon lights, alongside a quick lesson in industrial history, the history of Philadelphia and its roadside.
The cool thing about these signs is that as you walk towards these signs, motion detectors will light them up, and you will find yourself facing a world of neon signs, right from diner menus, to signs. There is also the chance to learn about the history of these lights. Some of these neon lights and signs also belonged to Philadelphia companies, which have now found a home here at the museum.
