Do you know why bathing is forbidden at this ghat in Banaras?

Several ghats in Banaras are connected to some legend or another and have a story to tell. One such ghat is Narad Ghat that has been named after the great ancient sage Narad. It is located close to Nardeshvara temple–a Shiva shrine where the shivlingam was established by Rishi Narad himself.
However, what makes Narad Ghat different from the rest is the fact that married couples or lovers are forbidden to bath here in order to avoid a curse to their relationship. It is believed that bathing in this ghat might cause marital discord, and eventually, the relationship may break. This is the reason why the local married couples, lovers and even tourists who are aware of the fact stay away from this ghat. Perhaps, this ghat was used by Rishi Narad as a celibate-hermit which could be one of the reasons why couples are barred from entering its waters.
In total, Banaras has 88 Ghats along the river Ganga. These ghats are used for performing rituals starting from afterbirth to death, and daily prayers. Two of the ghats are used only as cremation sites. Tourists take a boat ride on the river Ganga to explore the various ghats. Many of these ghats are renovated after the year 1700 AD when Baranas become a part of the Maratha Empire.
