Dating back to the early 13th century, St Peter’s Church is not only architecturally striking but it provides some of the best views of Riga. From its tower one can see Old Town, the modern section of Riga, the Riga Bay and the Daugava River and its port. More than 130 meters tall, this Gothic building was constructed and then destroyed over and over across the centuries, giving it a melange of architectural styles ranging from the Baroque to the Gothic. In 1967 it was renovated after the bombings in World War II.
