The Rashtrapati Bhavan is getting ready to welcome guests to its beautiful gardens. The Festival of Gardens or Udyanotsav as it is called is going to have a 2019 edition soon. The festival is going to be held from February 6 to March 10, 2019. You can expect a treasure trove of a variety of trees and plants, and just the chance to experience this beautiful place.
The Festival of Gardens is going to host some of the most spectacular flowers ever known to man. You have almost 100 different types of Bougainvillaea, besides 10,000 Tulip bulbs in various shades imported from the Netherlands. There are seven gardens here at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi, and each of these contains the very best from the flora world.
There are about 159 varieties of Roses on display here for guests, names that you might not have even heard before. So you will see roses such as Adora, Mrinalini, Oklahoma, Modern Art, Blue Moon, to name a few. Other flowers include daffodils, hyacinth, among other seasonal flowers. The gardens are so vibrant and big that the Rashtrapati Bhavan employees 300 people to maintain and develop the flowers and the whole garden.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan garden, known as Mughal Gardens, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and scenic gardens of India. It is 15 acres of land, and was inspired by the gardens in Jammu and Kashmir, and as well the gardens surrounding Taj Mahal, Agra. It was designed by Edward Lutyens, who also designed the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
