Uninterrupted views of Mt Kanchendzonga is the highlight of Pelling. A sliver of a town, Pelling is visited by mountaineers in love with world’s third highest mountain. Once here, you can indulge in a lot of activities such as white water rafting in Rangit river, kayaking, trekking, mountain biking and bird-watching as well. The 17th century Buddhist monastery of Pemayangtse is 40 minute hike away from Pelling. Quite revered by the locals, this monastery lies on the Dzongri trek route and offers some impressive views of the entire range. Other attractions in Pelling are the Kanchendzonga falls, the Khecheopalri Lake (35 km from Pelling), the Singshore Suspension Bridge and the Sewaro Rock Garden. With all these attractions and more stunning vistas at every turn, you will have plenty keeping you distracted apart from the great Mt Kanchendzonga itself.
