To prevent pollution in the area, Bedi requested the administration to declare the region a vehicle-free zone that will also help in preserving the locality’s serenity. Tourism department has now been asked to make signage and launch paddle boat services in the lake. Women SHGs and Ponlait (Pondicherry Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd) are given the responsibility of serving refreshments in the region.
Besides, the Commune Panchayat has been asked to give responsibility of fishing rights by opening tender. They will also facilitate recreational hook and line fishing in the region. Interestingly, recycled materials will be used to make benches on the bunds. To make it more recreational for tourists, rental cycles would also be provided for cycling.
