Kodachadri is one of the popular trekking destinations in Karnataka. Located at about 160 km from Mangalore and close to popular Mookambika Temple of Kollur, Kodachadri hill is also connected by road, drivable only by 4x4 jeeps. Public transportation is available till Kollur from where tourist jeeps can be hired to reach Kodachadri, if you do not prefer trekking. Kodachadri peak is about 1300 m above sea level, which is 10th highest in Karnataka (Mullayyanagiri in Chikmagalur is the highest). Read less

Kodachadri is one of the popular trekking destinations in Karnataka. Located at about 160 km from Mangalore and close to popular Mookambika Temple of Kollur, Kodachadri hill is also connected by road, drivable only by 4x4 jeeps. Public transportation is available till Kollur from where tourist jeeps can be hired to reach Kodachadri, if you do not prefer trekking. Kodachadri peak is about 1300 m above sea level, which is 10th highest in Karnataka (Mullayyanagiri in Chikmagalur is the highest). From the peak, scenic landscape of Western Ghats is mesmerising. Add that with the sunset in the Arabian Sea, the view will be worth trekking all the way. Wide range of fauna and flora will be encountered while you make your way to the top. Do carry adequate water as not many facilities are available on top of Kodachadri. A visit to Kodachadri can also be clubbed with other nearby places of interest such as Sigandur Temple and Nagara Fort.
