The implementation of Green Protocol will be finally complete across 78 locations in Kerala by December 15, according to latest reports. The main objective of this protocol is to promote reuse and recycle materials and make the city environment friendly; moreover, the campaign will be undertaken with the support of the Suchithwa Mission.

"The Tourism policy 2017 implementation will commence with that of Green Carpet action plan 2017-18. Also, the tourism department shall implement Green Protocol in all the identified 78 locations by December 15," said Bala Kiran
He said that the objective of the Green Carpet Action Plan is to transform the tourism sector in Kerala into various travel-friendly places.
'Responsible Tourism' is the core of the tourism policy devised by the state government. Its characteristics are people-friendliness, nature-friendliness and being socially acceptable.

Reportedly, the Kerala Tourism department and the state government have been engaged towards rewarding implementation of Responsible Tourism by employing nature-friendly and waste-free programmes.
Bala Kiran added that the department will endeavour to make every tourist destination in Kerala suitable for the differently-abled too.
