Kerala couple fund their world tours by selling coffee

They say “where there is a will, there is a way,” but so often we find ourselves complaining about our unfortunate lives. So many of us want to travel, but yet we are not financially equipped for it. But this Kerala couple in their 70s have actually toured numerous cities in the world, and are going to do it again. Do you know what they do for a living? They sell coffee, and tea.
Some years back a travel blogger by the name of Drew Binsky had posted a video of this couple, and ever since then they have gotten famous. Recently, Anand Mahindra, Chairman, Mahindra Group, had tweeted about them, further spreading their name. The couple, Vijayan, and Mohana, have been to over twenty countries in their 45 plus years of marriage. They work hard at their humble stall, called Sree Balaji Coffee House, Kochi. The couple have not kept any employees in their stall, so that they can save as much as they can for their trips.

Vijayan and Mohana take loans to travel the world, and after they return they toil for the next two to three years in order to pay off the loan, and then go on another trip. According to reports, the couple keeps aside INR 300 everyday, and that way they collect enough money. Their last trip was to Argentina, Brazil, and Chile.
Anand Mahindra had not only tweeted about the couple, but suggested that their next trip should be crowd-sourced and given to them as a gift on their anniversary. The response for this has been ecstatic. The couple’s next dream destination is Sweden, Denmark and Norway.

At the end of Drew Binsky’s video, Vijayan says, “Life is beautiful, we enjoy it.”
