Winter in Kashmir has always been a thing that travellers look forward to; and this year, Kashmir tourism has seen substantial growth with hotels and guest houses running full. Kashmir’s Gulmarg and Jammu’s Patnitop are two of the most sought-after places this season, flocked by numerous travellers who are in search for snow.
According to the Tourism Secretary, the tourism sites got such good response simply because of the tourism department’s planned promotional campaigns. According to him, the tourism department of Jammu and Kashmir had conducted campaigns to promote winter tourism in Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. Also, other destinations such as Gulmarg, Pahalgham, Patnitop, and Bhadarwah were promoted as premier products for winter at both national and international fairs.
The very popular Chadar Trek in Leh had also been promoted, and there have been systematic promotions on social media as well as national and regional newspapers throughout the winter months.
Apart from these areas, Ladakh has also witnessed quite a large number of adventure tourism enthusiasts this winter season.
