A picturesque island that has been wooing moviemakers since time immemorial and enticing travellers with its exotic pearls, Phi Phi is one of the most popular getaways in Thailand. While perfectly white sand gently caresses its teal waters, limestone cliffs seem to form a gentle embrace around them. When approached by a boat, the islands emerge from the sea like a grand citadel that is guarded by an army of palm trees. Phi Phi is essentially a group of six alluring islands with Phi Phi Leh and Phi Phi Don being the most popular names. Phi Phi Leh is interestingly home to the gorgeous ‘Maya Bay’ where Danny Boyle’s Leonardo DiCaprio’s starrer ‘The Beach’ was filmed. The mysterious ‘Viking Caves’ are equally visit-worthy. The ‘H’ shape of Phi Phi Don, on the other hand, is very Instagram worthy. You could also take a trip to the Bamboo Island for a more immersive experience of the Phi Phi archipelago.
