The destinations across different parts of India offer as much variety to travellers as the numerous cultures of this country does. These facts have been reassured by the strong figures India’s overall tourism industry has registered over the entire year of 2017.
Talking about how much the country is loved as a destination by travellers from other parts of the world, the Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) of 2017 displayed marked improvements. Between the months of January and November in 2017, as many as 90.01 lakh foreign travellers visited India, which is a straight 15.6 percent growth over the figures of 2016 in the same period.

During the same period of 2017, a total of 14.57 lakh foreign tourists arrived on e-Tourist Visa as compared to 9.17 lakh during January-November 2016, registering a growth of 58.8 percent.
When it comes to the domestic travellers, figures from 2017 reveal that the number of domestic tourist visits to the different states and union territories was 1613.6 million in 2016 as compared to 1432.0 million in 2015, thus showing double-digit growth of 12.7% in 2016 over 2015.
