The Giant Buddha statue, also known as the Leshan Buddha, in China is one of those sites that is mostly found on the bucket list of ardent travellers. This is an extraordinary site in the country and people from across the globe flock here to witness its grandeur, especially the followers of Buddhism.
There is another giant Buddha statue in China’s Henan, standing tall at 420 ft; it is now the tallest in the world and was built between 1997 and 2008.
According to the sources, the statue officially reopened to the public on April 26.
As far as the history of the statue is concerned, it was built back in the eighth century during the reign of the Tang Dynasty. It took around 90 years to complete this massive piece of art.
Now that the statue is open to visitors again, the country is expecting more visitors.
