Cavtat is probably the shortest day trip possible from Dubrovnik. This fishing town, overlooking the Dubrovnik Riviera is a short drive away from the Dubrovnik’s Old Town. But this is a day trip we would highly recommend. Cavtat’s laidback vibe is a far cry from the tourist-laden alleyways of Dubrovnik. The fishing town is home to a number of luxury hotels and resorts. A lot of these hotels offer expansive buffets, which could be an option for you if you’re in Cavtat for a day trip. In terms of things to do, there is no dearth of activities in Cavtat. You could go for a dip in the sea or jog down gorgeous lanes laden with pine trees on both sides. If you’re a history aficionado, then we recommend checking out the Rector Palace, the Sipun Caves, Cavtat’s Franciscan Monastery, and archaeological ruins from the pre-Slav period. Make sure you take the time to just sit on one of the benches lining Cavtat’s streets and take in the charming rhythm of this city. The perfect day trip from Dubrovnik indeed!
