The tallest building in Japan, Abeno Harukas is striking to the core, and offers some of the most arresting views of the city of Osaka. Designed by celebrated architect Cesar Pelli, it is as tall as 300 m, and is a more modern phenomenon as it opened its doors quite recently in 2014. With some 60 floors that have plush hotels, restaurants and offices, this skyscraper is also home to the biggest department store in the country, Kintetsu, with its international brands and high-end dining options. Admission into the glass-panelled observation deck on top comes for a price and the feeling of being inches away from the sky might just take your breath away. The establishment also houses a magnificent Art Museum for those who are interested in Buddhist paintings, and antiques from the Renaissance period. Moreover, tastefully designed cafes and souvenir shops also find place inside this futuristic building.
