A modern architectural wonder in an ancient city
Word to the wise: Combine your visit with an electronics shopping trip to nearby Nehru Place, as there's not a lot else to see in this area.
Designed by Canadian-Iranian architect Fariborz Sahba and completed in 1986, the temple lies in South Delhi and is an active house of worship, open to all. Cleverly cooled by pools of water and gaps between the giant marble 'petals', the hall is not in need of air-conditioning even in the hottest months. A peaceful oasis and a place for quiet contemplation.
