Learn more about JFK, the myth and the manTalk of the town: The Ernest Hemingway Collection - a trove of 90 percent of the author's existing manuscript materials - is also housed in the library.
One of the most compelling and charismatic US presidents, John F. Kennedy has his life, administration, and tragic assassination presented in artful exhibits melding film, audio, television clips, original documents, and artifacts.
The presidential library and museum, housed in an I.M. Pei design, celebrates JFK's achievements and chronicles the volatile and monumental events rocking the nation during his presidency: the Civil rights movement, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the space program.
Ghostly black and white clips of speeches, newscasts, and the assassination are somber and haunting, while the spirit and youthful energy of the times are captured in campaign memorabilia.
Those who are more skeptical of the myth of Camelot may also be intrigued by the library's presentation, as they'll want to judge for themselves how much is emotional theatrics and how much is objective truth.
