The film will hit the big screens on November 11 ahead of this year’s Children’s Day. The slice-of-a-life drama captures the innocent friendship of two boys in a remote border village in West Bengal.

The Enforcement Directorate conducted searches at 11 locations, including the residence and farmhouse of former RG Kar Medical College principal Sandip Ghosh, over alleged financial irregularities. prasun chatterjee, a data entry operator at NMCH and close associate of Ghosh, was detained. Multiple residences linked to Ghosh's relatives and associates were also searched.

Kolkata has seen a surge in illegal bursting of crackers ahead of Diwali, with violations reported mainly in the southern parts of the city. Complaints of illegal crackers being burst have come from residential areas such as Ballygunge Circular Road, Sarat Bose Road, Lake, and Dhakuria, as well as slum areas. The police have seized over 180kg of banned crackers, many of which had fake QR codes. They are struggling to distinguish between genuine green crackers and fake ones. prasun chatterjee's 'Dostojee' is set in a remote West Bengal village near the India-Bangladesh border where two little boys Palash and Safikul are neighbours and also childhood friends. Palash’s father is the Hindu priest in the village while Safikul’s father is a Muslim weaver. Their lives turned upside down after the Babri Mosque demolition, and the seething tensions between the Muslim and Hindu communities soon threaten to destroy the innocent friendship between the two boys.
