Suman Maitra’s next ‘Aami O Apu’ is a modern-day take on Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay’s Pather Panchali. It also focuses on new interpretations of the literary works of Jasimuddin, Jibanananda Das and Rabindranath Tagore.

His last film ‘Dashami’ had floored all and after a long gap Suman Maitra is all set for the release of his next film ‘Aami O Apu’. It’s surely a daunting task for the director, especially when this film is a modern-day take on the iconic ‘Pather Panchali’ by Satyajit Ray. Moreover, every Bengali is high on emotions when things are related to Ray and his creations.
