The Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) is a 231 member state legislature of the Madhya Pradesh located at the centre of its capital city Bhopal. The 230 members of the MP Vidhan Sabha is directly elected from single-seat constituencies and one is nominated member.

The full term of Vidha Sabha in India is 5 years, unless it's dissolved early. The present speaker of the house is BJP's Sitasharan Sharma, who was elected on January 9, 2014. Congress MLA Rajendra Kumar Singh was elected Deputy Speaker on January 10, 2014.

BJP's Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the present leader of the house and the chief minister of the state. Congress's Ajay Singh is the leader of the Opposition.

The tenure of Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha ends on January 7, 2019. The dates of the upcoming assembly election in the state has not been announced yet.
