Kyle Busch’s final hours have come into focus after PEOPLE obtained audio from a 911 call made on May 20. The NASCAR star was reportedly coughing up blood and struggling to breathe at a training facility in North Carolina. Busch later died at age 41 on May 21. Days earlier, he had openly spoken about ongoing respiratory problems after recent races.

Ethiopian marathon runner Yebrgual Melese has died aged 36 after suffering a sudden medical emergency while training in Addis Ababa. Melese was preparing for the Ottawa Marathon later this month. She won major races in Houston, Prague, and Shanghai and finished second at the 2015 Boston Marathon. Her personal best of 2:19:33 came at the 2018 Dubai Marathon.
