An Indian-origin man in Singapore received a nine-month jail sentence for impersonating a prison officer. Prakash Paramasivam, 25, emailed Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and other officials, falsely claiming innocence in past convictions and alleging domestic abuse. He also used a forged medical certificate to skip court, revealing a pattern of deceit.
