In a heart-wrenching turn of events, a family from Sitapur is reeling after news broke that their 26-year-old son, Ravi Gopal, lost his life in a missile strike while working in Riyadh amid the escalating tensions of the Iran-Israel conflict.

The bodies of two youths who were washed away in the Thenpennai river near Shoolagiri five days ago were retrieved on Saturday. The deceased were S Harish, 18, of the Seetharam Medu area of Hosur, and G Madhu, 17, of Rajaganapathi Nagar of Hosur.

The Kannankurichi police arrested a 20-year-old youth in the city on Saturday evening for stealing four dobermann dogs. Police also rescued the dogs and handed them over to the respective owners. The youth is identified as Shanmuga Ponvel, of Rajaganapathi Nagar at Johnsonpet, a farm worker.
