James Neesham is one of the best products that New Zealand have unearthed in their recent past. A player more than useful with both bat and ball, Neesham was part of the New Zealand Under-19 squad for the 2010 World Cup.

Two years after making his first-class debut and impressing everybody, James was called up to New Zealand's T20I squad for their series against South Africa and made his T20I debut in Durban in December 2012.

His ODI debut followed the next month. Consistent performances in the limited overs saw him earn a place in the Test team and he did not disappoint. Neesham scored a hundred on debut against India in early 2014, which is also the highest number of runs by a no. 8 batsman in Tests.

Neesham is an important player in New Zealand's middle order in the limited-overs formats and earned himself a contract with the Delhi franchise for the 2014 edition of the Indian T20 League.
